Marija Jelic, soprano is born on 23th of February 1993 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. After finishing Mathematical Gymnasium, she finished Faculty of Electrical engineering at the University of Belgrade and continued to learn singing and also finished master studies in opera singing. Her vocal coach is primadonna Jennifer Rowely, she is well know dramatic soprano from Metropolitan opera house. In 2017 Marija passed the audition for opera studio in National Theater in Belgrade and started to singing small and main roles in opera productions. She was singing Puccini: Boheme (Mimi), Bizet: Carmen (Micaela), Binicki: Na Uranku (Stanka), prepared roles from Mozart: Le Nozze di Figaro (La Contessa), Verdi: Elizabeth (Don Carlo), Puccini: Gianni Schicchi (Lauretta), Puccini: Turandot (Liu), Leoncavallo Pagliacci (Nedda), Verdi Otello (Desdemona), Mozart: The Magic Flute (Pamina). Furthermore, she was singing in the main halls and concerts in Serbia: Concert La Divina with orchestra Stanislav Binicki at Kolarac Hall, in Belgrade Philharmonic Spring Concert with Chinese Orchestra, Lid Concert of Rachmaninoff songs at Belgrade Summer Festival and lots of concerts in other towns in Serbia. She was singing in opera gala concert of ending of Summer festival in Wernigerode (Germany), Kur salon Wien with Wien Orchestra, Teatro del Carmine Sardinia. She was singing Partisan requiem in Moscow International Music Center. She was singing ten concerts with St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Darrel Ang (Mariinsky Theater) in National Library in Beijing, Dongying Grand theatre, Liniy Snow Lotus Theater… She has debut with role Mimi in Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad. She performed Micaela at Croatian National Theater in Osijek. She was also singing in Moscow with Bryansk Governor Orchestra and St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra in St.Petersburg. She was also singing in the city of Bryansk (Russia) with Bryansk governor orchestra. She was singing also in Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad (Serbia) role of Mimi and in Croatian National Theater in Osijek (Mikaela). She was singing in the Gala opera concert opening of 60th Festival Ohrid Summer Festival. Also, she was singing Beethoven 9th Symphony in Plovdiv opera festival. She was singing with many conductors like E. Plasson, C. Fitzner, A.Guliyev, S. Rouland, D. Ang. She got a scholarship for Summer ISOFOM Morelia Opera Masterclass for two roles Mimi and Contessa where she has worked with Kristine Opolais, Jennifer Rowely, Aliyn Perez, Abdiel Vasquez, Ragnar Conde etc. She has her solo recital in Carnegie Hall in March 2021.
